Cashless tips for tour guides.

Your tour ends, the group says thank you, and half have no cash. WaveTips lets everyone tip you from their phone in the same minute, then invites them to leave a review.

The end of a tour, as it often goes

  • Nobody has euros

Visitors from abroad use cards and phones. “Can I pay by card?” is the most common question at your last stop.

  • The group disperses fast

You have a minute before people head to lunch. A card reader means a queue, and a queue means lost tips.

  • Reviews are left to chance

Your ranking depends on reviews, yet most happy guests forget to write one once they are back at the hotel.

What WaveTips does for guides

  • One code for the whole group

Hold up your sign: twenty people can scan and tip at the same time, each from their own phone.

  • A review request at the right moment

After tipping, guests see a link to your review page. That is when they are the most generous.

  • Every tour, in numbers

Total tips, number of tippers and average per tour — so you know which routes work best.

  • Speaks your guests’ language

Your page adapts to each visitor’s phone language. You write your message once.

Your last five minutes, with WaveTips

  1. Announce it at the start

Mention that the tour runs on tips and that cash, card and phone all work.

  2. Show your code at the last stop

Hold your QR code at chest height while you thank the group. People scan while you talk.

  3. Let the review request do its job

Guests who just tipped are invited to review you. No need to ask twice.

  4. Check the tour on your phone

On your way to the next stop, see what the tour brought in.

Questions from tour guides

Does WaveTips work for free walking tours?

It was designed for them. On a tip-based tour, every guest who cannot tip is a direct loss, especially when you pay a booking platform fee per attendee.

Can guests still tip in cash?

Of course. WaveTips adds an option for people with no cash; it does not replace your usual tip jar.

Our company has several guides. Can each guide have a code?

Yes. Each guide gets a personal code, and the organiser gets an overview. Tell us about your team when you join.

Which review platforms can I link?

Any public review page: Google, Tripadvisor, GuruWalk, Freetour.com, Airbnb Experiences and others. You paste the link once.
